Yumbini Makes the Front Page

Last year, in 2022, we were a brand new company with a lonely table at the first Piedmont Food Fest.  This year, everything has expanded – the Food Fest and Yumbini.  We went all-in with a full fledged booth, tent, health department permit, and lots of yummy tasting samples – serving more tasters than ever before.  But we did not expect to get on the FRONT PAGE of the Piedmont Post!   What a happy surprise!

Some of the tasters we met were excited to send Yumbini to college students, or use our “survival kit” as graduation presents.  Others stocked up for lunches at the office for themselves or after school/sports snacks for the kids.  Some people bought Yumbini to take traveling.

But everyone appreciated the fantastic rich flavors of Yumbini and how easy it is to make!  Healthy, delicious beans and rice in 6 minutes – what’s not to like?  Available at Bay Area Retailers and online!

Jan Matsuno

Jan Matsuno is a Certified Food Scientist with over 40 years' food product development experience. She formerly held senior R&D positions at Del Monte Foods, Safeway, CCD Innovation and Mindful Food Consulting. After developing thousands of new products for the US and 20 other countries, she launched Yumbini Foods, quick beans and rice, in 2022. She is a proud alumna of Oregon State University.
